Neoregelia ‘Checkerboard’ is a striking miniature bromeliad hybrid known for its bold leaf patterning and compact growth. It forms a tight rosette of broad, slightly textured leaves that feature deep red coloration overlaid with a distinctive grid of light green or yellowish square spots—resembling a checkerboard. As the plant matures, the leaf tips often darken to a rich red, adding depth and contrast to the vibrant rosette.

This bromeliad thrives in bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight, which helps bring out its full range of color and pattern without scorching the foliage.
