Neoregelia ‘Rumba’ is an enchanting miniature bromeliad hybrid created by Skotak in 2010, combining multiple vibrant parent lines into a small yet striking plant. The rosette, typically only 3–4 inches across, features green leaves adorned with purplish-red specks, bars, and dots, framed by crisp white margins and fine streaks. As it matures, these colorful markings deepen, creating a lively mosaic that resembles painted confetti.
This cultivar thrives in bright, indirect light, which enhances its speckled coloration and encourages stronger contrast. It prefers warm, humid environments and an airy, well-draining mix such as orchid bark combined with perlite. Like other Neoregelias, ‘Rumba’ absorbs moisture through both its roots and its central cup—keep the cup lightly filled with clean water while allowing the surrounding substrate to remain slightly moist but never soggy.
A prolific pup producer, Neoregelia ‘Rumba’ quickly fills its container with offsets on short stolons, ideal for creating dense clusters or sharing. Its compact size, vivid foliage, and easy-care habits make it a perfect choice for terrariums, tabletops, or small-space tropical displays—offering bold visual appeal in a petite package.
