Drosera binata, commonly known as the Forked-Leaf Sundew, is a distinctive and highly effective carnivorous plant native to Australia and New Zealand. Unlike most sundews, D. binata features branching, forked leaves that resemble delicate antlers or wishbones—each coated in shimmering, sticky tentacles that lure and trap insects. The more mature the plant, the more intricate and divided its leaf structure becomes, with some forms developing multiple forks per leaf.

This sundew thrives in bright, direct to strong indirect light and prefers a consistently moist environment, using distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. It grows well in a mix of sphagnum moss and perlite or sand, and like other carnivorous plants, does not require fertilizer. Drosera binata is a fast grower and can reach impressive sizes under the right conditions. It also produces tall flower spikes with small, attractive blooms—typically white or pale pink.

With its unique appearance and insect-catching efficiency, Drosera binata is a fascinating addition to any carnivorous plant collection, ideal for both hobbyists and seasoned growers.
