Drosera adelae, commonly known as the Lance-Leaf Sundew, is a striking tropical carnivorous plant native to Queensland, Australia. It forms a rosette of long, narrow leaves covered in glistening, sticky tentacles that secrete mucilage to trap insects. The leaves often remain a lush green in low light but can develop a bronze or reddish tint under brighter conditions, adding to their visual appeal.

This species thrives in warm, shaded, and humid environments, making it ideal for terrariums or shaded windowsills. It prefers high humidity (60–90%) and consistently moist soil composed of peat moss, sphagnum moss, or similar acidic, well-draining mediums. It should be watered with rainwater, distilled, or reverse osmosis water, and kept sitting in a shallow tray of water to maintain moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate foliage; instead, provide bright, indirect light or filtered sun.

Drosera adelae does not require a dormancy period and can grow year-round in stable indoor conditions. It produces tall, delicate flower stalks with small, star-shaped red to orange flowers, typically blooming in summer. The plant readily forms new plantlets from its roots, making propagation easy and resulting in lush clumps over time.

With its beautiful, insect-catching foliage, ease of propagation, and tolerance for indoor conditions, Drosera adelae is a rewarding and attractive addition to any carnivorous plant collection.
